What the drivers said after practice sessions

Pepe Oriola: “It was very hot, but I loved the track. We changed quite a few things between the first and second session and the car improved much, but I think this is also due to the track getting cleaner and faster. I am pretty satisfied with the balance, but the results do not mean much. I am sure the Honda cars will be much faster tomorrow in qualifying.”

Gianni Morbidelli: “It’s difficult to have a clear idea. The track is still very dirty and we still have many things to solve on the car, first of all, a brake issue. The track seems quite treacherous, it is easy to make mistakes.”

Michael Grachev: “We had a good session, with much more grip than what we expected. We have a brake issue to solve, but the car feels already quite good. The track is a real street track, with walls quite close. First and last corner are the trickiest ones.”

Stefano Comini: “It’s a very difficult track, also because it is cambered, so quite tricky. We have a serious issue with engine temperatures in the SEAT cars, when you are behind another car, you are immediately at 125 C° and you lose one second a lap.”

Fernando Monje: “Not a bad session for us but we have trouble with the temperatures and the set-up as well. Basically, after every flying lap, I had to slow down quite a lot to cool down everything…”
