Leopard Racing’s Jean-Karl Vernay was moved up from 12th to ninth on the starting grid for today’s Race 1.
The Frenchman had had all his Q2 lap times disallowed by the Stewards for trespassing the track limits and therefore had been classified 12th and last in the second qualifying leg.
However, by reviewing the marshal reports, the Stewards realized that Vernay had only committed one infringement and gave him back his second best qualifying time (2:34.190) that placed him ninth.
This also meant that Pierre-Yves Corthals who had qualified 10th, winning the pole position on the top-ten reverse grid for tomorrow’s Race 2, has been demoted to 11th, while Antti Buri inherited the tenth position and the pole for Race 2.
