Frédéric Bouvy and Guillaume Mondron carved out a space for themselves in TCR history as they were the first drivers to race in a TCR-spec car.
Sunday at Zolder, they took part in the Terlaemen’s Cup, opening round of the Belgian Racing Car Championship, in a SEAT León run by Allure Team.
Bouvy and Mondron finished the 150-minute race in second position overall, behind the winning Porsche 991 Cup, and won the BRCC Trophy beating a BMW M3 GT4.
Bouvy, twice a winner in the Spa 24 Hours and several times Belgian champion in GT and Touring Cars, said: “I was impressed by the SEAT, I had the feeling of driving a GT3 car! It was a real pleasure to drive it. The TCR concept is perfect: affordable and reliable cars. In my view it represents the future for circuit racing.”
