Thai driver joins Craft-Bamboo for home event

Thai driver, Munkong Sathienthirakul, known as Turbo, will join Craft-Bamboo Racing this weekend for his home race at Buriram’s Chang International Circuit.
He will be driving the SEAT León previously raced by Fran Yu and this will be his first time behind the wheel of a TCR car. The 30-year old from Bangkok switched to touring cars five years ago after claiming three national karting championships; he is a regular front-runner in the Thai Super Series.

“I have always been interested in the TCR Series ever since it started this year and I always wanted to be a TCR driver. This day has finally arrived and I am so proud to be joining a team that is as professional and successful as Craft-Bamboo Racing. They have really helped build up my confidence for my first international touring car race and I look forward to doing my very best with the team at my home circuit,”Sathienthirakul said.

Team principal Richard Coleman added: "We are happy to have ‘Turbo’ join our team and complete our four car line-up. It's his first time in a TCR car but I'm confident that he will get up to speed quickly as we have three experienced drivers alongside him. His local knowledge of the track should benefit the team and we look forward to a strong weekend."

Sathienthirakul is the second Thai to enter in the event after his fellow countryman Tin Sritrai with Asia Racing Team.
