Testing quotes from the TCR Asia drivers

Munkong Sathienthirakul (1st): “We started strongly because I know the circuit quite well, but in the end, it was down to not having enough experience with the TCR car which is very different to what I’m used to. The turbo and the torque really caught me by surprise. I have to admit too I was very nervous to start with, especially amongst so many talented drivers, but my engineer talked me through it and it was okay. Now I just need to work more with the car to get a better feel for it before the race.”

Robb Holland (2nd): "We spent much of that session finding a baseline setup for the car, because with all the little teething issues the car has had, they hadn’t been able to do that till now, so we spent a lot of time in and out of the pits. The car seems fine now, no big problems, just a matter of getting the setup right and we’ll be away, but I’m enjoying the car and enjoying the circuit."

Michael Choi (3rd): “I’m actually quite surprised to be just a second off the local driver to be honest. I started quite slowly, but tucked in behind some of the international drivers, and that really helped me find the extra speed I needed. It’s a very nice circuit, so I’m looking forward to the race, but for me this weekend, it’s all about points and the championship, but so far I’m having a great time."

Filipe de Souza (6th): “I like this circuit, it’s a nice mix of fast and mid-speed corners. I didn’t quite get the most out of my best lap, but I understand where I can improve. As it has been all season, it’s very close between the TCR Asia competitors, and there’s just a second separating me and my team-mates, so it is going to be an interesting race.”
