TCR Italy – Baldan stretches his point leadership

Nicola Baldan claimed his sixth victory of the season in Vallelunga’s Race 2 and stretched his leadership in the championship classification to 28 points ahead of Eric Scalvini.
The driver of PitLane Competizioni drove his SEAT to a lights-to-flag victory, while his rival in the title fight retired soon for the consequences of a contact in the early stages of the race.
Behind Baldan, who had started from the pole position, the winner of yesterday’s Race 1 Kevin Giacon (Tecnodom Opel Astra) settled in second place and successfully defended the position in the final laps from the assaults of Baldan’s teammate Massimiliano Mugelli’s Audi RS3 LMS.
Touring Car legend Fabrizio Giovanardi made a great comeback after four years, by claiming a well-deserved fourth place in the BF Motorsport SEAT León. Fifth was classified Giuseppe Montalbano in the second BF Motorsport SEAT, after a tough fight with the Honda Civic of Scalvini’s MM Motorsport teammate Davide Nardilli who was forced to retire.
The TCR Italy’s last round will be at Monza on October 21 and 22.
