Josh Files, who has been recently crowned the first ever champion of the ADAC TCR Germany series, will take part in the TCR International Series final meeting.
Files made a one-off appearance in the championship, last year: “I am very excited to return to Macau. I’m even more excited to return there in my championship-winning Honda Civic with my championship-winning team Target Competition! I feel this year we have a real shot to be right towards the front of the TCR International field! I genuinely can’t wait for the event to start. All I need to do is de-familiarise myself with the track and learn the Michelin tyres, whilst obviously tweaking the car to suit the conditions. Will be a lot of fun, and a great feeling to come up against the TCR International guys, and of course Tiago Monteiro.”
Files’ season in the ADAC TCR Germany was triumphant, to say the least: six victories out of fourteen races, three pole positions out of seven Qualifying sessions and a margin of 53.5 points over the second driver classified. The participation in the TCR International Series finale will be the icing on the cake.
“The German championship went pretty well. Therefore I hope to continue that form with the Target boys in TCR International. As long as we stick to our normal routine and work ethic, we should hopefully been in the thick of it and have two really fun races. Obviously I don’t want to get in the way of any championship deciding battle though, so hopefully we can be in front of it!” Files concluded.
