Dušan Borković (pole position): “It’s great to get the pole here at Spa, it’s a good reward for the team after the difficult weekend in Portugal. Considering the car that has done the pole here is exactly the same that suffered the accident at Estoril, you realize how well the boys worked. Today, everything worked well: car, tyres, strategy… I just tried to keep calm after one of my best laps in Q1 was deleted and remain focused. We’ll see how things go tomorrow but my main objective remains to score heavy points.”
Pepe Oriola (second fastest): “I am very happy with the result, not bad at all. I lose two tenths in the first sector with respect to my most direct rivals, maybe they managed to get better slipstream; in the other two sectors, the car was perfect. I am quite confident for tomorrow and the objective is to regain points and drop kilos!”
Aku Pellinen (third fastest): “It was a difficult qualifying, I really had to fight and be at 110%. The set-up changes we made on my car after free practice seem to have worked well, but in general terms, our Honda Civic cars are struggling a bit this weekend.”
Jimmy Clairet (11th fastest): “It’s great to have achieved Q2 despite the power deficit. Spa is obviously a track where this is accentuated but it is also a very demanding track for chassis, and it’s very nice to have been able to prove the chassis qualities and the overall reliability of the Peugeot 308 on a track such as this. We keep progressing and that’s very good too. I am really loving this TCR experience and it would be great to be back in the future.”
