Practice 2 – What the drivers had to say

Ferenc Ficza, fastest lap: “I was very happy with my performance in this second session, although I really suffered from the heat and was completely dehydrated, to the point I vomited everything I had eaten in the day…”

Sergey Afanasyev, fourth fastest: “It’s simply great to be part of this new adventure since the very beginning. Everything is new to me and to most of us and it’s nice to see how well things are going in this first round. The only thing I dislike is the heat, it’s like being in a sauna. I still have to adapt to front-wheel drive but things improve lap after lap. Still, I believe we won’t see a meaningful hierarchy until Qualifying tomorrow.”

Mikhail Grachev, 12th fastest: “It was ok for me today, although we still need to get used to the Audi and I still have to adapt to front-wheel drive. The engine suddenly stopped towards the end of the session, I don’t know what happened.”

Diego Romanini, 15th fastest: “It has been a difficult first day for the Ford Focus and we couldn’t do a trouble free lap, but I hope we can fix the problems. We have some overheating issue on one hand and some gear selection hiccup on the other…”
