Dušan Borković set the pace in a very close Practice session that saw the eleven fastest drivers all covered on only seven tenths of a second.
The track was dry when the green light was on; lap times improved quickly and the Leopard Racing duo of Stefano Comini (1:49.959) and Jean-Karl Vernay (1:49.992) broke the 1:50 wall.
Soon afterwards, however, Pepe Oriola posted a provisional fastest lap of 1:48.996; however the Spaniard was demoted to second when Borković stopped the clock at 1:48.837, a time that was not to be beaten.
In the second part of the session, Mat’o Homola (1:49.004) and Sergey Afanasyev (1:49.044) climbed to third and fourth respectively, while Gianni Morbidelli (1:49.063) ranked in fifth and best of the non-SEAT drivers.
Vernay improved his mark to 1:49.179 and was classified sixth, ahead of Aku Pellinen (1:49.250), Attila Tassi (1:49.292), Kevin Gleason (1:49.438), Davit Kajaia (1:49.457) and Comini (11th in 1:49.543).
The session was shortened by five minutes in order to recover a delay in the timetable caused by a red flag in one of the previous sessions.
The Qualifying session will follow at 16:40 local time.
