Practice 2 – Alfa Romeo duo top the timesheet

GE Force teammates Dušan Borković and Davit Kajaia posted impressive lap times to top the second Free Practice in their Alfa Romeo Giulietta cars. They both were capable of going well under the 1:44 mark and only Jean-Karl Vernay managed to stop the watches in the 1:43s later in the session and was classified third.
During the first twenty minutes, provisional fastest times were posted by Vernay (1:44.884), Mat’o Homola (1:44.743), Norbert Michelisz (1:44.279) and then again Vernay (1:44.208) and Michelisz (1:44.113).
Then, with eight minutes left on the clock, Kajaia made a significant jump forward with a lap of 1:43.472, inflicting a gap of nearly seven tenths to the rest of the field. And that was not all, as the Georgian’s teammate, Borković was even faster in 1:43.444.
The others tried to respond and finally Vernay clocked the third fastest lap of 1:43.864, ahead of Giacomo Altoè (the fastest of the Honda drivers in 1:44.031) and Rob Huff (1:44.068).
Stefano Comini placed the best of the Audi cars in eighth (1:44.407), followed by Homola’s Opel (1:44.462) and the trio of Lukoil Craft-Bamboo SEAT drivers lead by James Nash (1:44.484).
After being the fastest in the first Practice, Kantadhee Kusiri was only classified in 19th position as he missed most of the session due to a broken driveshaft.
Once again Chariya Nuya was the fastest of the TCR Thailand competitors, 17th overall (1:45.766).
