Practice 1 - What the drivers had to say

Jordi Gené: “Pepe Oriola and I made basically the same time, so he should be congratulated as much as me. The car feels well, we are quite happy, so I think we will only have to fine-tune some details. Still, it is going to be a tough weekend, also because of the heat we can expect.”

Gianni Morbidelli: “I knew yesterday’s time in testing was an illusion. Today, things are according expectations, given the extra weight I carry and the great experience the SEAT cars have here. The objective of the weekend, for me, will be to score as many points as possible and limit damages.”

Mikhail Grachev: “After the excellent performance yesterday, we cannot be satisfied with this morning’s lap times and the way the car behaved. I think we did a mistake in the set-up and we will revert to yesterday’s set-up for free practice 2.”

Stefano Comini: “We are happy with the behaviour of the car, but surprised by the big gap with respect to the Bamboo LUKOIL car, difficult to explain. What is sure is that we do not have much margin for improvement.”
