Peugeot claims first TCR victory in 12H Red Bull Ring

The Peugeot 308 Racing Cup has claimed its first win in the TCR class at the Red Bull Ring, Austria. Two French 1.6-litre cars run by the Team Altran Peugeot were classified 17th and 18th overall in the 12-hour race, the third round of the 24H Series.
Only three cars TCR took part in the race and the French outfit’s brand new cars scored a double victory with Guillaume Roman, Thierry Blaise and Kim Holmgaard covering 369 laps, one more than their teammates Stéphane Ventaja, Thierry Boyer and Michael Carlsen.
The Speed Factory Racing Audi RS3 LMS of Jesus Fuster, Miguel Abello, Mirko van Oostrum and Jaime Fuster that had been fastest in Qualifying, could not stay in striking distance and took third place, 36 laps down after a series of incidents that resulted in pit stops for repairs.
The 24H Series’ fourth round will take place at Le Castellet, France on May 5, 6 and 7 for the 24H Paul Ricard.
