Point-leader Gianni Morbidelli and his WestCoast Racing Honda Civic topped the TCR test day in Valencia.
The Italian driver posted the fastest lap during the morning session, stopping the clock at an impressive 1:42.828, two tenths faster than Stefano Comini’s SEAT León (1:43.051).
Jordi Gené improved in the afternoon session, climbing to third (1:43.146), while two newcomers impressively ranked fourth and fifth: Bas Schouten (1:43.164) and Lucile Cypriano (1:43.199). They were followed by Andrea Belicchi (1:43.289), Pepe Oriola (1:43.262) and David Cebrián (1:43.330), which meant that a pack of seven SEAT cars was placed behind Morbidelli’s Honda.
Kevin Gleason was ninth in his Civic (1:43.444) and Mikhail Grachev tenth (1:43.474) with the fastest of the Audi TT cars. The best thirteen drivers were covered by only seven tenths of a second.
The Campos Racing team worked hard to develop the Opel Astra OPC and Oscar Nogués was able to post a best lap of 1:45.673 despite a fuel feeding.
