Georgian fans have already nicknamed them ‘Giuiietta’s Cavaliers’. Davit Kajaia and Dušan Borković team up in the 2017 TCR International Series and fly the colours of the new Georgia-based GE-Force team at the wheel of Alfa Romeo Giulietta cars.
Kajaia has already had the opportunity to drive the Romeo Ferraris-built Giulietta TCR quite recently in the TCR Middle East series, showing promising preformance of the Italian car.
"The plan to establish a strong Georgian racing team becomes real. GE-Force combines Alfa Romeo’s glorious brand, two competitive drivers like Kajaia and Borković and the Italian know-how of Romeo Ferraris engineering,” commented Archil Talakvadze, the President of Racing Club ‘MIA Force’ and the leader of the Parliamentary Majority of Georgia.
Kajaia echoed: “I am happy and proud to represent Georgia in the team GE-Force. I hope in a successful debut in my home country that is hosting the opening event. I am incredibly excited and I’m confident that with my teammate and good friend Dušan we will manage to make a good job and have fun.”
Borković added: "GE-Force and Romeo Ferraris have set a plan that was really trustworthy and appealing to me. They have longterm ambitions that make me confident. I feel a great responsibility and a challenge, as we aim for improving and upgrading the car throughout the upcoming season. The Alfa is still not on the same level of the Honda or the VW Group’s cars, but has a great potential. “
TCR promoter Marcello Lotti commented: “This is going to be a strong package. I am sure that with support from MIA Force, two experienced drivers like Kajaia and Borković will be able to fully exploit the potential of the Romeo Ferraris-built Giulietta.”
