Jordi Gené has successfully accomplished the mission he was entrusted by SEAT Motorsport Italia.
The Spaniard’s job was to help Valentina Albanese to reduce the gap in the standings of the Italian Touring Endurance Championship during the series’ sixth event that took place at Misano.
After claiming pole position for both races, Gené escorted Albanese on her way to claim a double victory and protected her back from the other competitors.
In Saturday’s Race 1 the two SEAT León TCR cars crossed the line with a large margin ahead of the BMW M3 E90 of Valli-Montalbano, while in today’s Race 2 they beat the BMW M3 E36 of Meloni-Tresoldi.
These results helped Albanese to jump on top of the overall standings with an 8-point margin ahead of Valli and Montalbano.
Later this afternoon, Albanese will take part in the rescheduled race of the previous round at Vallelunga that was cancelled due to heavy rain.
