Rob Huff (1st fastest): "A good session. I’m still improving on car and on myself, but we were quick. With nicer weather and higher temperatures than yesterday, track conditions seem to have changed quite a bit. At the end of the session, I put on new tyres just to see and I improved my lap time."
Gabriele Tarquini (2nd fastest): "It's really nice to be racing again at top level, and clearly, we are very happy with the first response from the track. It's always special when you debut with a new car, but here really we see that the great work done by the entire Hyundai team is paying off. It's a new track for everybody and I must say it's impressive to see what kind of venue they have built here at Zhejiang."
Pepe Oriola (4th fastest): "Not a bad session, but it is really a challenging track. As soon as you push a bit, you lose the car, the front or the rear, but you lose it. One really has to avoid to overdrive and it is very difficult to avoid mistakes and find the right balance in your driving."
Jean-Karl Vernay (6th fastest): "I tend to like the track every time a bit more, it's actually quite interesting, and the kind of circuit where you have to work more on yourself and your driving than on the car."
Davit Kajaia (7th fastest): "I am quite happy, as we managed to significantly reduce understeering. We still had some issues with the brakes, but we solved them, and I think we are heading in the right direction. For us, it will be crucial to be in Q2, otherwise we'll have little chances in the races."
