Denis Dupont: “I am really happy to be in P1, and a little bit surprised too, as this is only my second outing in the International Series, on a track new to me, but I am really enjoying both the circuit and the car, which is working perfectly. Still, the key moment will be Qualifying this afternoon, and I hope to do a good job there.”

Pepe Oriola: “It was a good session but it’s very difficult to have a clear idea on the set-up as car behaviour keeps changing constantly, for no apparent reason. The car worked beautifully on used tyres, but became extremely nervous with new tyres, especially on faster corners, where you really need traction.”

Aurélien Comte: “It has been a lively morning, first with the brake pressure problem in FP1 and then a blown tyre in FP2, which limited my track time. Despite that, lap times were not bad and we worked well, although there is still a lot of work to do. The Opel is very easy to drive at first, but clearly I need more time to understand fully its behaviour.”

Jean-Karl Vernay: “The car performed very well on used tyres, then we changed some settings, but that did not brought the expected results. On new tyres, it felt completely different, and worse, so we still have some work to do. It’s very hot today, but it’s a dry heat, more manageable than in Thailand or China.”
