B3 Racing Team has named Attila Tassi as its third driver for the 2016 TCR International Series.
The 16-year old Hungarian will join Mat’o Homola from the Slovak Republic and Dušan Borković from Serbia at the wheel of the team’s trio of SEAT León cars.
Tassi began driving for B3 Racing in 2012, when he was 12, and took part in the Hungarian Suzuki Cup. After three successful seasons, resulting in one race victory and sixth place in the series, he made his international debut last year in the SEAT León Eurocup.
“It is a great honour and also a great opportunity for me to represent my home country and my team in a global series. I’m aware that this also means a lot of responsibility, which is why I’m spending my time in serious preparation. As the youngest driver in the field, I face a difficult task, but I can learn a lot from my experienced teammates. My aim for the first season is to gain respect from my competitors and to be considered a serious rival,” Tassi said.
Technical director Dávid Bári commented: “There is no question: Attila is very talented and we know he has a lot of potential. He is young, committed and exceptionally motivated to become one of Hungary’s best drivers. It was no accident that he was given the chance in the SEAT León Eurocup last year. He is the next generation for us and we completely place our trust in him.”
